McPherson to discuss efforts for easy voting

Secretary of State Bruce McPherson will meet with community members from the Central Coast Center for Independent Living on Friday in Salinas to discuss his efforts to help make voting easier and more accessible for voters with disabilities.

Representatives from the Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties Registrar of Voters offices will demonstrate accessible voting machines that will be used Nov. 7. Protection and Advocacy Inc., a statewide disability rights law firm, will provide information on services for voters with disabilities.

The meeting will be 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ chambers at the Monterey County Government Center, 168 West Alisal St., Salinas.
